How about some 90's music?

I love the 90's and I've just written a novel based in 1995.

I wanted to look at the music of the time.  I know Faith No More's 1989 "The Real Thing" but what about their 90's album "Angel Dust"?

Keep it '90s

I helped organise a '90s night recently, I am basing my novel in the '90s and today I found a velvet jacket. I am very much looking forward to tonight's "This is England '90" on UK TV (Channel 4).

It's hard to believe that this era is now described as Vintage. In my novel research I hope to share more of the '90s with you.

Depression

I am trying to understand the subject of Depression and am buying Matt Haig's book, which has been recommended, called "Reasons to stay alive".

Oh gosh. A weight loss tip of listing what I eat was suggested and I ran out of room in my diary.  At least it has made me plan tomorrow.  x

Sugar Club Reunion, Peterborough, England

On Thursday, a 90's music event took place. I am lucky enough to have been involved behind the scenes.

The Sugar Club Survivors Group is a Facebook page celebrating a time in the 90's where anIndie night was held every Saturday in a room within the 5th Avenue Nightclub in Laxton Square. The first Event night took place in 2009 and was based on this page.

Subsequent nights have taken place and Thursday's was brilliant. The play list included:

Head like a hole
Where's me jumper?
Praise you
Canonball
I feel you

Becoming a writer

I have, I think, a great idea for a film. Where to go from here though?

Does Social Media help or hinder?

Should I aim for a London Paris Brussels trilogy?

Should it be a novel or a travel guide or both? Let's try it! x

An afternoon in Camden Town, London

I was lucky to meet my amazing friends in Camden yesterday. I love the mix of the markets, the music tradition, bars and restaurants.

I was disappointed at the traditional market,  the first one you reach after Camden Town tube station. The market traders seemed pushy.  I was just looking at a dress and my size was asked. The dress looked small but the man assured me "it was wide". Charming.

Camden Lock market was packed and touristy. The saving grace being the sign and card shop!

We found a lovely place to eat, Bar Centrale, on Chalk Farm Road.
